On Saturday April 28 four lovely young ladies were presented to society at the Quandialla Soldiers Memorial Hall Scots Debutante Ball.

Mrs Jennifer Kelly, MC for the evening, introduced the official party. The President of the Quandialla Soldiers Memorial Hall, Mr Robert Reeves who was accompanied by Mrs Lynell Reeves. Secretary of the Quandialla Soldiers Memorial Hall, Mrs Marlene Taylor partnered by Mr Trevor Taylor. Matron of Honour for the evening was Mrs Margaret Charlesworth and the 2018 Debutantes were presented to Mr Geoff Charlesworth.
The Presentation started with the foyer doors being opened to reveal an empty foyer. To the delight of the crowd the gorgeous flower girls were escorted through a decorated arch to the foyer by the Debs partners. The Deb’s were then announced and collected by their partners and moved to the dance floor to dance, an introduction piece to “Just the Way You Are”. Then the five delightful flower girls entertained family and friends with a performance of singing and dancing along to the music of “It’s a Beautiful Day”.
The first Debutante to be presented was Miss Emma Dixon, daughter of David and Anne Dixon of Quandialla with Emma being partnered by her brother William. Emma wore a gown with a very full tulle overlay skirt. The sleeveless sheer fabric bodice was beautifully decorated with Guipure Lace front and back and was finished with a fabric band at the waist. Emma attends Yanco Agricultural High School and is currently in Year 11 and hopes to study Radiography.
The next debutante to be presented was Miss Tara McGuire daughter of David McGuire of Quandialla, Tara was partnered by Luke Brown son of Cindy Brown and John Farraway of Young. Tara was wearing a chiffon Grecian style gown with the bodice featuring a delicate rouched gathering on the bodice front. Tara is currently studying at TAFE and wishes to pursue a career in Hospitality.
Our next Debutante for the evening was Miss Grace Silk daughter of Mark and Wendy Silk of Young. Grace’s partner for the evening was Dylan McAlister son of Brenden and Danielle McAlister of Quandialla. Grace wore an elegant gown with a gathered satin skirt. The sleeveless Capri Lace bodice featured ‘off the shoulder’ wide straps and a front sweetheart neckline. Grace is currently studying at TAFE and hopes to pursue a career in Child Care.
Our last Debutante for the evening was Miss Breanna Daley daughter of Jefferey Lahay and Amanda Daley of Quandialla. Breanna was partnered by Gage Durham, son of Amanda Emmett of Forbes. Breanna wore a satin gown with a chiffon overlay, with the front skirt featuring three chiffon handkerchiefs that delicately floated from the bodice front. Breanna currently attends the Henry Lawson High school at Grenfell and wishes to pursue a career in Child Care.
Our flower girls for the evening were Clementine Ryan, Heidi Morley, Jessica Golden, Jane Johnston and Isabella Emmett – Daley. They looked picture perfect wearing sleeveless floral print dresses that featured a high round neckline bodice and a gathered skirt.
Mr Robert Reeves officially opened the Ball, the Debutantes responded, thanking everyone concerned with making such a wonderful night. The Debutante party then gathered to cut the Debutante Cake which was made by Mrs Kathy Smith and beautifully decorated by Mrs Bev Kelly.
To complete their presentation the Debutantes and partners formal dance was the Swing Waltz.
