The PCYC will host the Commonwealth Games boxing trio at the PCYC building on the Young Road on Saturday, June 2.
Fifteen bouts will take place featuring local fighters Damien Michael, Patrick Neville, Jack Keys and Montana Walker. Watts, Stridsman and Scott are expected to feature on the card as well.
Stridsman won gold and Scott secured a bronze medal at this year’s Commonwealth Games while Watts claimed gold in 2014.
CEO of PCYC Dominic Teakle said it’s a great initiative.
“These nights are all about community engagement. We want to change peoples’ perception of boxing and understand it’s a youth engagement and community engagement tool.”
He revealed that Stridsman is a boxing product of Umina PCYC.
“She’s a great ambassador,” he said.
The event is the Cowra club’s biggest fundraiser of the year and is aiming to raise $10,000.
“PCYC is one of the largest providers of boxing classes in the state. Boxing is central to our mission of getting young people active in life, reducing crime by and against young people and promoting citizenship,” Cowra PCYC manager Stewart Mead said.
Cowra’s PCYC has three Level one coaches and deliver breakfast and after school junior boxing programs as well as evening adult classes.
