Neville was indeed one of the most respected men in the sport, his driving style being unique.
Nifty’s emotions often overflowed when receiving a trophy or accolades from his peers.
A former shearer by trade, he made definite inroads to the sport of harness racing many years ago and in doing so made great friends with the Hampton family of Grenfell, also the late Albert Butt of Narooma Stud at Monteagle.
Those involved in the sport at that time would well remember the clearing sale at the Grenfell Racecourse in April 1973 when Neville came forward and gave Tony Fountain a hand to sell the stock on Alberts behalf.
Neville also made great friends with Len Bush and in doing so won the prestigious Caprice Farms Cup at Leeton with Reschs Lad.
A huge crowd of relatives and friends attended a graveside service for Neville last Wednesday, May 30 at the Grenfell Cemetery followed by refreshments at the Showground.
Members of the Harness Racing Community attended dressed in their Racing Colours in honour of Nev.
May he Rest In Peace.
