Many Grenfell residents are probably aware of the impending closure of our NRMA office. A staggering 77 Country Service Centres are to close at the end of the financial year, Grenfell being just one of them. Thank you to ALL the people who signed the petition requesting that we remain open, it is heart-warming to know the community are so supportive of our business. Insurance Australia Group (IAG) have controlled operations in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia. IAG trade as NRMA insurance, CGU insurance, Swann insurance, SGIO insurance, SGIC insurance and more. IAG have decided to close the OFF-LINE service centres. Apparently only 3% of customers use the face to face offices and we are therefore not viable. Thank you to Clr Phil Diprose who was the driving force behind getting IAG to come to Grenfell and meet with council and CPSA, the meeting was held on May 11, 2018, with two IAG members in attendance (Executive manager Luke Boyle and Strategic Agency Relationships manager Michael Finlay) where the petition was presented requesting that we be put back to an ON-LINE facility. Unfortunately we received a call on Tuesday May 22 notifying us of IAG’s decision that we were unsuccessful with our request to remain open. I would like to let our customers know that NRMA Motoring and Services (road service) will remain open, IAG and NRMA are not the same company.
