GRENFELL
GARDEN CLUB: What a wonderful meeting day it was for the Grenfell Garden Club!
Their May meeting was held at Croote Cottage in Gooloogong, starting with a talk by a descendant of the Dowd family who lived in the cottage many years ago, Denis Dowd.
This was followed by guided tours through the cottage, outbuildings and garden by Maryanne, Denis and Lyn, and then morning tea in the grounds followed by their meeting.
The group were invited to walk through Maryanne's garden next door, followed by a visit to the Gooloogong Museum and to top it off - lunch at the pub.
The hospitality was second to none.
It was certainly one of our best meeting days!
A SPECIAL
ANZAC DAY: Following the Dawn Service on ANZAC Day, where Jack Grant was a part of the RSL Flag Party, he was driven to Sydney to watch his beloved St George Football defeat the Sydney Roosters 24-8.
