Condo managed to secure the first points on the board and not long after managed to score the first try of the game with an unseen inside pass. Grenfell soon realised that Condobolin meant business with their second try taking the score to 13-0 at half time.
Grenfell came out firing in the second half but a few mistakes let Condo take advantage of another penalty goal. Grenfell then regathered with blistering speed which saw veteran player Stuart Hughes cross the line and with the conversion successful it took the score to 16-7.
The Grenfell men then found their confidence playing textbook rugby with plenty of team spirit pushing Condo back on their own line. Another try came to Stuart Hughes, however, unfortunately this try was not converted and the score remained at 16-12 with a win to Condobolin. Well played Panthers, a terrific contest.
Points awarded were as follows:
Player’s player and 3 points – Stuart Hughes
2 points – Brock Taylor
1 point – Henry Mitton
This week the Panthers will travel to Canowindra and as always the men would love to see their valued supporters on the sideline cheering them on.
