Local poet Bob McMillan was joined by Young poet Jim Lamb for a wonderful tribute to Henry Lawson performance last Saturday at the Anglican Church in Grenfell titled ‘A Yarn with a Mate’.

The show began with a lovely introduction of Bob by his good friend and fellow poet Jim Lamb of Young.
Mr McMillan then related a very interesting story of the life of Henry Lawson which was both informative and entertaining.
Many audience members would have been unaware of the comprehensive details Mr McMillan shared.
Having studied Henry Lawson quite extensively over the past 50 years, Mr McMillan considers himself a Henry tragic.
After a short intermission Mr McMillan and Mr Lamb continued on with the show telling jokes and stories much to the delight of the crowd in attendance.
Mr McMillan certainly has a talent of captivating an audience and his recent appearance at the Anglican Church was thoroughly enjoyed by all those present.
