So many people have already collected their seed packets from Paige at the Tin Cupboard, and there are still seeds available for those who would also like to plant some.
Growing instructions are in each packet.
Garden Club members will be planting seeds in Council gardens together with the Council gardening staff next week.
Grenfell will be a field of red in November, ready for the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, to commemorate, and show respect for all those who served in WW1 for our country.
The Garden Club are working on publicising this major project throughout the region to attract tourism for the town.
An interview on ABC Radio was held last week, Deidre has been promoting it on 2LF Radio.
Also many thanks to the Grenfell Record, who have continued to promote the project.
So, the word is out!
The next meeting of the Grenfell Garden Club will be held on Tuesday May 1.
This will be a morning meeting as we will all meet in front of the Gooloogong Pub at 10am and then proceed to Crootes Cottage, where Marianne Dowd will meet us and give us a guided tour of the historic cottage and garden.
She has also kindly invited members to go for a walk around her large garden, which is next door and which we will do after morning tea.
This is a byo chair, thermos and mug, and a plate of something to share.
We will have a brief meeting to discuss the planting of the poppies.
All members of the community are welcome to join us.
The Grenfell Garden Club would like to thank the many members of the community who have already come on board with overwhelming support for this special project.
