With three private functions and a program packed full of racing action, fashions and entertainment members of the community flocked to the racecourse in droves.
President of the committee Danny Kotel said “Last Saturday the club hosted one of the best attended Picnic Race meetings in Grenfell in many years,”
“On behalf of the club I would like to thank all those who helped make this years event such a great success.”
The winner of Race #1 Joanne/Wendy/South West Tractors/ AWN Maiden plate was ‘Deadly Cute’ trained by T Sutherland ridden by Shannon Fogg.
Race #2 The Railway Hotel Grenfell Picnic was won by ‘Long Lasting’ trained by K Kennedy ridden by Shannon Fogg.
Race #3 The Ladbrokes Maiden Plate was won by ‘All Good’ trained by S Jeffries ridden by William Pearson.
Race #4 Sweet Lauraine/ Grenfell Pharmacy Class 2 Trophy Handicap was won by ‘Armedanddangerous’ trained by S Jeffries ridden by William Pearson.
The feature race, Race #5, The Doug Allen Memorial Grenfell Picnic Cup was won by ‘Rehanaat’ trained by S Jeffries ridden by William Pearson.
The final race of the day was Race #6 the McClintock President’s Class 1 Trophy Handicap and was won by ‘Princess Strada’ trained by N Smart ridden by Ricky Blewitt. The Picnic Race Club thank all of their generous sponsors and supporters.
And of course once again the Fashions on the Field event was highly contested with the following winners taking home great prizes:
