Lulu’s Destiny has raced at some of the most remote race meetings in Australia but will be closer to home tomorrow at the Grenfell Picnic Races when starting the likely favourite in the $5,000 Doug Allen Memorial Picnic Cup over 1400 metres.

Last winter Nyngan trainer Rodney Robb took a team of gallopers on a marathon journey to the far north of Western Australia and the tough four year old mare Lulu’s Destiny was the star performer.
Lulu’s Destiny won twice on the saltpan track at Wyndham and also winning at Kununurra.
After a well deserved spell, Lulu’s Destiny resumed racing over the 2018 summer and won successive races at Parkes ( TAB ), Bedgerebong ( Picnic Cup ) and Tottenham Picnics.
At the most recent outing Lulu’s Destiny tackled very strong company in the $150,000 Country Championship Qualifier at Dubbo, and although unplaced did fight on bravely after taking the lead halfway down the straight.
Seventeen year old Ridge Wilson who rode his career first winner at the recent Tottenham meeting is making the long trip from Inverell to ride Lulu’s Destiny at the Grenfell Picnic Races.
The Trevor Sutherland, Wagga Wagga trained Dream On Stan ran a close third in the 2017 Cup behind As Easy As, ridden by the late Samara Johnson, and Butterfly Sky,and with Shannon Fogg in the saddle looms as a big chance again.
Dream On Stan finished strongly on the outside to win the recent Tullibigeal Picnic Cup and was then third in the Cootamundra Picnic Cup won by Diamond Charlie.
Leading jockey Ricky Blewitt, over Easter, rode a total of 9 winners at Tullibigeal and Bourke and takes the mount in the Cup on the well performed Sergeant Bilko for Harden trainer Mark Cummins.
From 85 starts Sergeant Bilko has recorded 9 wins and 22 placings and recently finished third in the Tullibigeal Picnic Cup.
Other chances in the Grenfell Picnic Cup include the Sharon Jeffries, Parkes trained Rehanaat, last start winner of the Trangie Gold Cup and to be ridden tomorrow in Grenfell by former professional jockey William Pearson.
Apart from the exciting local races, punters will gather around the on course TV screens to watch the champion Winx attempting to equal the 25 successive wins record of another champion, Black Caviar.
Grenfell has attracted very good fields and the first race is scheduled for 1.25 pm.
