U12s; This year the under 12s have teamed up with a number of West Wyalong kids to make the Panther Pirates! It was always going to be a tough first hit out with only a ten minute get to know you and work out some positions. We drew 2 pretty experienced teams in Griffith and Cootamundra who were both too strong on the day. The team didn't stop trying though and some players to watch in 2018 will be Alexander Nowlan and big Johnny Lebroque who scored our first try of the season.
U16s VIVA: The girls played well this week even with no subs in 33 degrees. The girls took little time to settle into the first game against Leeton with Amelia Squires breaking away in the second half for the only try scored of the game. The girls came off the field feeling 3 feet taller from the win. The girls second game against Tumut was much harder with both teams defending their trylines well. After half time Tumut gained 2 try's and in the dying minutes Teleitha Obyrne intercepted a cracking pass and made a break for it. Many thanks to the parents for the support from the sidelines. Our next game will be in Cootamundra on Sunday May 6. New players interested in giving Rugby a try in 2018 can come to training on Wednesday at 6pm after the school holidays.
