Mavis Drogemuller celebrated becoming a nonagenarian at the Country Club on Saturday March 31, surrounded by (almost) her entire family.
Mavis ‘the Magnificent’ looking youthful at her 90th birthday celebrations was delighted to have her daughters Colleen Primmer and Ruth Stein and her son Alan Drogemuller and their families in attendance as well as her brother Les Simpson.
Many of Mavis’ friends were there to wish her well and help her celebrate this milestone.
98 NOT OUT!
Jack Grant celebrated his 98th birthday with a nine-hole round of golf on Saturday afternoon, March 31.
Jack’s son in law Chris ‘Tubby’ Suckling from Wagga partnered Jack who maybe the oldest person in Grenfell playing golf and they were up against a much younger Brian Brown and Allan Jones.
Jack’s daughter Felicity and her husband ‘Tubby’ were in Grenfell for the birthday celebration, whilst the rest of the families were in Queensland for Jack’s granddaughter Emily McDonald’s wedding.
Following golf, Jack had a rest before enjoying a birthday dinner at the Albion Hotel.

GRANDPARENTS:
Chris and Trevor Lobb have just returned from a trip to Coffs Harbour to watch their grandson, James, son of Trent and Amanda Lobb, play representative cricket.
James, from Iluka, who has just turned 11, was selected to play in the Northern Rivers team, from which he was then selected to captain and play for the Northern Region team.
Having led his team to victory, he was then selected in the North Coast Regional Team to play at the NSW PSSA State Championships.
We wish James all the very best for the next step, which is selection for in the team to represent NSW in the Nationals.
21ST BIRTHDAY:
On Saturday night, March 24, family gathered at the Chinese restaurant to celebrate Katrina Hewitt’s 21st Birthday.
Her grandparents, Brad and Janet Hewitt travelled from Braidwood for the occasion.
Her father, Mark and her brother Brad together with Lisa and Scott Hewitt had a most enjoyable evening.
Congratulations Katrina.
18TH BIRTHDAY:
Billo and Judy Wheatley had all their family home March 24 for a family gathering for a celebration for Evan Wheatley's eldest daughter Annabelle's 18th Birthday.
The birthday dinner was held at The Happy Inn Chinese Restaurant where the Grenfell and Forbes cousins joined in the festivities.
A very happy and noisy weekend was enjoyed by all.
BELATED CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES:
Anthony Dixon, his merchandise crew from Lachlan Fertilizers and their partners kindly chose to hold their belated staff Christmas party at Greenethorpe's "One Night in Vegas”.
Enjoying the Christmas Party were Matt and Mandy Reid, Anthony Dixon, Belinda Mawhinney, Mick and Maria Neill, Edward McKellar, Ingrid McKellar, Anda Reily and Erin Kinsella.
The Greenethorpe “One Night in Vegas" committee said, “Such good fun and great sports for supporting our local fundraising activity!”
RSL DINING IN NIGHT:
This year the Grenfell RSL Sub Branch will hold a ‘Dining In’ night in the tradition of the Army on April 28 at the Grenfell Country Club.
This dinner is in place of the usual luncheon following the parade on Anzac Day - the reason being that many of the RSL members are involved in other activities and services in surrounding towns and villages.
