Mrs Carpenter is delighted she will be involved in this project and has said, “I am thrilled to have been selected to participate in the Media Stringers Network which allows creatives from different fields to collaborate together to tell stories from the stixs, focusing on Rural, Regional and Remote Australia everyday stories about everyday people, places and events,
“There are 20 mixed media creatives from across Australia taking part in this program and we will be collaborating remotely using technology to bring these stories and projects to life. I hope by being involved in this new collaborative group I will be able to showcase this amazing region we live in, the rich agricultural history and heritage that the Weddin Shire has to offer along with its natural environment.”
Recently launched, the Media Stringers Network, comprises photographers, writers, journalists, artists, videographers, designers, marketers and performers from remote areas all over the country.
The network was developed by Rural Room to bring together regional creatives to share their work, talent and stories to wider national and international audiences. Rural Room also hopes the network will encourage metro companies to provide more creative job opportunities in the regions.
Bec Bignell, Rural Room Founder says, “Rural Room has an extensive footprint online and throughout local communities. We identified incredible creative talent among our audience and want to leverage this talent to grow their influence and promote diverse stories and new storytellers.”
The Media Stringers Network is not just an invaluable database of established and emerging talent but is also an extensive, nationwide co-working space using virtual hang outs and discussion portals like Slack to communicate.
Rural Room is a creative hub which aims to release more stories from the sticks and generate a sustainable story telling legacy in regional communities. For more information visit www.ruralroom.com.
