The donation will be used to assist the Hospital Auxiliary with funds to pay for a recent acquisition for the Grenfell Hospital in the form of an Ultrasound machine costing $15,000.
The ultrasound primarily will be used for bladder scans and blood scanning, and will be a permanent fixture at the Hospital.
The machine will be available to Dr Louis, a palliative care specialist who visits Grenfell from Orange, and also to Dr Patrick Akhiwu, Grenfell’s local general practitioner.
The greater portion of the funds raised by the Muster committee will be used to assist the Grenfell Show Society with improvements to the Show ground.
The purchase of the Ultrasound machine was seen as something that would benefit the general Weddin Shire community and the Muster committee were happy to be able to assist the hard working Hospital Auxiliary with this donation.
Mrs Clarke indicated she was very happy to accept the donation, stressing that the machine will be well utilised within the community as a whole.
