Former Cootamundra MP Katrina Hodgkinson has extended her heartiest congratulations to Michael McCormack, saying she was thrilled to see his elevation to the role of Leader of The Nationals and Deputy Prime Minister.
“Michael and I worked closely together over several years as Nationals MPs covering similar jurisdictions in Southern and Central NSW and I believe that he is ideal to take on the role of Deputy PM.
“Michael has an excellent understanding of the needs of both rural communities and major cities", Katrina said.
“Whether it’s taking the leap of faith off a ten foot tower onto a rubber cushion mat at the Harden Kite Festival, hosting a small business leaders forum at Wilders Café in Young or making an impassioned ANZAC Day speech at dawn to thousands of people in Canberra, Michael has always put every effort into his duties as both a Minister and as a local Member, delivering for his communities.
“This is an exciting time for Southern and Central NSW and I wish Michael and his lovely wife Catherine all the very best in their new respective roles” Katrina Hodgkinson said.
