Team Grenfell’s invincible trio, Blake Bradtke (c), Andrew Armstrong and Steve Galvin have done it again! At Bathurst at the weekend they followed up last year’s win to triumph in the Zone 4 Triples championship for the second year in a row.
To qualify for the final they had a good win over the Mudgee side of Jae Marskell (c) Martin Brynes and Mitch Townes, winning by 26-17. In the final they faced a strong and experienced team from the Orange Country Club comprising Lee Stinson (c), Tony Stokes and Ben Callaway. However, the Grenfell boys played some magnificent bowls to run out easy winners 29-11.
Blake, Andrew and Steve will now go on to compete in the State Championships later this year and we wish them the best of luck.
Club Championships: In the final of the 2017 Mixed Pairs Championship, played on Saturday, Sonia Ingall and Andrew Armstrong defeated Tracey and Ross Hunter in an exciting match. The teams were even at 18-18 after 16 ends but Sonia and Andrew picked up four shots on the 18th end, which paved the way for their win of 24-20.
The draw is on the board for both the 2018 Major and Minor Singles Championships and bowlers are asked to complete their matches, by mutual agreement, as soon as they can.
