Congratulations to Blake Bradtke (c), Steve Galvin and Andrew Armstrong, who were Section 2 winners in the Zone 4 Triples Championship held at Parkes B & SC at the weekend.
On Saturday, they defeated a team from Parkes Railway in the first round and then won their quarter-finals match against a Parkes B & SC side.
On Sunday in the semi-finals, they defeated another team from Parkes Railway to make the final.
Up against a team from Millthorpe skippered by Mark Rimmer in the final, Blake, Steve and Andrew were in top form and took out the match by a convincing margin of 28-10. A fantastic result, well done boys.
Blake’s team will now play the Section 3 winners, Martin Byrnes, Mitch Townes and Jae Marskell (c) of Mudgee, at Bathurst next weekend.
Best of luck, Boys!

Annual Grenfell v Quandialla/Caragabal challenge
As usual, a good night was had by all at Caragabal last week when Grenfell played Pennants trials against Quandialla and Caragabal sides.
Our Grade 4 teams played very well, winning all three of their matches against Quandialla 33-6, 32-14 and 21-18.
The Grade 7 teams could only manage one win against Caragabal when Phil Hunter’s team defeated a team skippered by Mitch Pollock 24-19.
The other two Grenfell teams went down 26-12 and 24-7.
By winning four matches out of six, Grenfell retains the Challenge Trophy for 2018.
Meanwhile, the teams for the first Pennants round on Sunday, March 4, are expected to be selected this week, so keep your eye on the notice board.
Golden Eagles
With a whopping $20,000 in prize money on offer, Orange’s prestigious Golden Eagle Pairs Tournament, being held this week, is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Best of luck to two Grenfell teams who have nominated – Steve Galvin/Rob Coleman and Martin Betcher/Ray Walter.
