In the Major/Minor Pairs semi-final, Kerry Aston and Tim Fowler defeated Martin Betcher 22-16, and will now meet Steve Galvin and Dennis Hughes in the final. Nominations are open for both the Major and Minor 2018 Singles Championships and Nomination sheets are on the notice board.
Zone 4 Championships
The finals of the Zone 4 Fours Championship were held on Saturday at Orange City Bowling Club and unfortunately the Grenfell team of Graeme Hunter (c), John Joyce, Matthew Reid and Ross Hunter, who were Section 2 winners, bowed out of contention when they were defeated by Section 3 winners, Phil Gray’s team from Bathurst City.
In the final, the Bathurst City team was beaten by a team from Gulgong led by John Mobbs. In Section 2 of the Zone 4 Triples Championship, to be played at Parkes B & SC this weekend, Blake Bradtke (c), Steve Galvin and Andrew Armstrong will play a team from Parkes Railway in the first round. Best of luck, boys.
