HAPPY BIRTHDAYS: Lorraine Harveyson celebrated her birthday on Friday January 26. Lorraine was in attendance at the Railway Hotel where her son Luke was entertaining, but sneaked away before he sang ‘Happy Birthday’. Proud grandparents John and Fran Harveyson also attended the fun night. Luke’s brother Daniel celebrated his 21st birthday with his good mates Mitch Stevens, Jacob Gavin, Ben Abbott, Bob Ryan, Sebastian Holz, James Hunter and Dylan McAlister on Wednesday evening January 31 with dinner and drinks at the Railway Hotel, then again Friday evening with another group followed by a night out with his parents Peter and Lorraine and friend Chelsea Anderson on Saturday.

FAMILY BIRTHDAY: Carolyn Shaw celebrated a special birthday at Fettlers Restaurant on February 01 with her husband Warren, children Emma, Holly and Adrian and the light of her life grandson baby Tate and his dad Michael Hampton. Good friends and neighbours Doug and Wendy Kohnen and their children Jai and Hannah also enjoyed the evening out.
AUSTRALIA DAY: Congratulations to all nominees and award winners on Australia Day. Whilst the awards were being presented Jenny Hetherington organised the wonderful children’s art which was judged by Matt Ireson, husband of the Ambassador Sandra. Pictured are some of the children doing their masterpieces.
VOICES AGAINST VIOLENCE: Grenfell Voices against Violence Committee is calling for quality used clothing for their ‘Clothes Swap’ fundraiser to be held on April 11.This is the perfect opportunity to finally let go of all the fabulous pieces you haven’t been wearing so that someone else can love and wear them! In exchange, you can pick up some new pieces for your wardrobe! This event is for ALL dress sizes. If you have clothing you wish to donate, the committee would like you to drop them at the Grenfell Community Health by March 09.
Swap guidelines: Women’s and Children’s clothing - dresses, pants, skirts, tops, shoes, bags, scarves, hats and jewellery. What NOT to bring: earrings, swimwear, underwear, pyjamas. Clothes must be clean and in a condition that’s not too heavily worn or too damaged. (Good quality like something you could give to a friend)
The fundraiser will take place at the Community Health on Wednesday April 11 from 9.30am – 12 noon with a guest speaker at 10.30am. Cost for the morning is $10 which includes a free morning tea and you get to choose five items of clothing. Funds raised will support projects raising awareness of Domestic Violence in the Weddin Shire. Items left over will be donated to Women’s Refuges in Forbes and Young and local Charities

Courtney advises that fundraising for your entrant can commence from March 1. If you have a major event please contact Courtney with the date so that functions do not clash. When promoting any event or fundraising please advise on any advertising that funds are for your festival entrant and to use the Festival Logo.
