The Grenfell SES, which is the Primary Rescue Unit for Grenfell, has a fully-equipped Road Rescue Truck including a full set of Hydraulic Rescue equipment (jaws of life) which are used by emergency rescue personnel to assist vehicle extrication of crash victims, as well as other rescues from small spaces.
During emergencies, when a few wasted seconds can cost lives, the Jaws of Life are brought in to remove victims from the crashed vehicle. These devices are also used to extricate victims from collapsed concrete and steel structures after earthquakes
With ongoing training in Road Crash Rescue the Grenfell unit is in need of motor vehicles which can be cut up and used to maintain skills.
If you have a vehicle available that could be donated to the unit, could you contact the Grenfell Local Controller David Sheehan on 0418236626. The members will happily pick the vehicle up and take it away for you.
