The newest aquatic centre west of the Blue Mountains will host the Championships over two days on Saturday and Sunday, February 10 and 11, playing host to the best swimmers in the region.

Grenfell Swimming Club members and their families are being asked to clear their calendars for that weekend and make themselves available.

If anyone or club has a marquee we can loan for the carnival please let Leann know on 0408 431 022 or the centre on 0490 830 563.

The first club night for 2018 was held last Friday- it was a beautiful evening and the new pool was a delight to return to.

Important dates

Monday 8 January 2018– next meeting – 8pm – swimming club rooms – all welcome!

Friday 26 January 2018 –   Disco night instead of Swimming Club.

Saturday 10 & Sunday 11 February 2018 – Mountains & Plains Swimming Summer Championships, Grenfell – pop the date in your diary.

Saturday 17 February 2018 – Business House Relays – commencing 4.30pm. Pop the date in your diary too.

Important Information

Swimming attire – Please be aware that swimming attire is to be in line with NSW competition standards:

Girls/women – one piece swimming costume with racing back – no fastenings/clips. No bikinis.

Boys/men - one piece – 1 layer – speedo type briefs/racers/jammers. No board shorts, footy shorts or rash vests.

Disco Night – Friday 26 January. This is our major fundraiser – 5pm – 8.30pm – Gate entry $5pp. Barbeque, disco, jumping castle and 100 club. Celebrate Australia Day at the pool keeping cool with your friends.

Perpetual trophies – please return perpetual trophies to Leann at the Aquatic Centre as soon as possible.

Feature race:  100m Butterfly - nominations to Leann by 4.30pm this Friday please.

Absentees: If you know you are going to be away during the holiday period or want to change any events please advise Leann before 4.30pm Friday. If you need to pull out of an event on the night due to sickness or injury, please let someone know at the desk.

Weekly news

Stroke correction classes:  Saturdays. 10am – 11.45am. Cost $5 per swimmer.

Swimming squad sessions: Monday – Thursday.  New time – 10am during school holidays. New official block started January 2 – returning swimmers $35 and new swimmers $45.

Raffle: This week’s raffle, $20 open Grenfell Aquatic Centre voucher, won by Mary Moffitt – congratulations Mary and kindly donated by Jen Bell and Gavin Johnson. Donated raffle prizes are greatly appreciated and can be left with Leann at the Aquatic Centre – the funds go straight back to the kids.
