Oh what a splendid turnout… from the very pleasing crowd numbers attending, to the “Mister Music” sound system by Phil Moore, which performed with great clarity.

Add, the resplendent Grenfell Town and District Band, who didn’t miss a beat, the young choristers from Grenfell Public School performing ‘Feliz Navidad’ and ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’ and St Joseph’s Primary School that performed ‘Emmanuel’, ‘God with Us’ and ‘Light of the World’ singing with gusto.
The youth Orchestra from The Henry Lawson High School showed off their talents performing ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and the engaging soloist Erica Moore who sang ‘The First Noel’ and ‘Silent Night’ with the Town Band, all made for wonderful merriment, as befit the occasion!
Yes, “Carols in the Park” last Sunday December 10, 2017, conducted by the Combined Churches of Grenfell, was a great success.
All present definitely thought so and the “sorry-sold out” sign, indicated that the sausage sizzle and drinks, run to perfection by the local Rotarians- (to use the language of the “young- uns”), well, just brained ‘em!
Plus- that’s not to mention the children (running about helter-skelter) and parents, many decked out in Santa hats, t-shirts and colourful accouterments, who just had a ball, joyously setting the scene for a very, merry Xmas celebration.
I doubt it gets any better.
The opening Prayer, delivered on a delightful sunny afternoon by the event MC, Pastor Rob Newton, set the scene for an occasion we can all be proud of.
A warm Christmas message was also delivered by Capt Vanessa Garven of the Salvation Army.
A fantastic time was had by all in attendance. Jingle Bells and ho ho ho to all!!
