Last news for the year from class 4/5/6. We have once again had a busy term with lots of different activities happening. One of the favourite parts of the literacy block is peer editing and authoring circles. This is where students read their writing to others and get suggestions for a range of editing ideas.

In Religion this term the students have used the historical critical method for analysing a text. The students research the sections – World Behind the Text – What was going on when the text was written. World of the Text – What is going on in the text? World in Front of the Text – What meaning can be made of this text today? The students are understanding the studied text in a whole new light. Mathematics this term has been revision of the four operations both formally and with word problems. I believe the students are now becoming aware of the importance of knowing quick addition facts and multiplication tables. This week we are completing a unit from Money Smart. This unit looks at admission prices at a variety of venues and the costs involved when visiting these locations
Working with Robots has been popular with a few students and Kirby and Blake built a colour sorting robot. Congratulations Boys!
