Members of the newly formed Grenfell Junior Eels Cricket club, now into their second year of competition, have enjoyed seeing the club grow to almost double the number of players for the 2017/18 season and envisage a successful future of growth within the region’s junior cricket circuit.

Stage 2 report – Saturday November 25
Grenfell Eels stage 2 took on the Cowra Sixers at Lawson oval with the Sixers coming away with a narrow 8 run win over the Eels. The team consisted of Max Brenner, Bill Trevillion, Riley Gray, Marco Joyce, Amelia Squires, Cooper Dun, Zack Brenner, Braeden Liebick and Orlando Joyce. Coach Robert Baldwin said his team played some marvelous cricket with stand-out bowling by Riley Gray taking 4 wickets for 2 runs off his four overs, earning himself a Subway voucher. “The Eels stage 2 side are really coming together as a team and are showing improvement each week,” said coach Baldwin. Final score was Grenfell 7/36, Cowra 5/44.
