This year in consideration of the price of electricity, Council has decided to continue with a Christmas display competition rather than a specific Christmas Lights competition.
Residents are invited to decorate their houses, yard, trees and fences in the most elaborate and imaginative ways possible.
The three best individual houses are in the draw to win prizes.
First prize is a $100 Go Grenfell card donated by Weddin Shire Council; second prize is $50 Go Grenfell card donated by Grenfell Car Club and third is $25 Go Grenfell card donated by Terry and Deidre Carroll.
The three best individual houses will go in the draw to win prizes.
Not only are Christmas lights entertaining for other residents who tour around town at night by the car load, it is lots of fun for the people who decorate their houses and the really good displays attract visitors from out of town.
This year’s competition will be judged by an impartial person from out of town to remove any perception of bias.
To ensure the judge visits your home, you will need to nominate your address by December 11 to edo@grenfell.org.au or phone 02 6343 2855.
The winners will be announced at the Combined Service Clubs Christmas carnival in Vaughn Park on December 15. Start decorating your house now.
The villages don’t miss out either with various competitions in each village to be held in the lead up to Christmas.
Caragabal has a Christmas Lights and Mailbox Competition, Quandialla has a Christmas Competition and Greenethorpe has a Christmas Gate Competition.
