When they came across Grenfell’s historic Railway Hotel their search was over as they had found the hotel of their dreams in a beautiful country township.
Moving from The Ponds NSW about six weeks ago the Gundry’s haven’t looked back and are really enjoying being part of the Grenfell community.
Noel previously worked in a distribution centre for Bunnings at Eastern Creek and prior to that worked in pubs for twenty years in Australia and New Zealand.
Margaret worked for South Sydney Council for fourteen years until they and City Council amalgamated and worked a total of twenty seven years in the planning department.
The Gundrys’ have a number of new, exciting ideas for patrons of the Railway Hotel to enjoy including the return of the dart boards and jukebox as well as an overhaul of the dining room including new furnishings and carpet which will create a modern, family dining experience.
The bistro/ restaurant will offer an updated menu with great specials for children using fresh produce sourced from local suppliers, as well as your old favourites.
Noel and Margaret are planning to establish a kids corner to create more of a family environment as well a revamp of the outdoor beer garden to allow a perfect space for entertainment.
Margaret said, “We have been in Grenfell now for six weeks and are not looking back, we love the town and the people.”
Grenfell’s Railway Hotel has a rich history within the community, being built in 1879 the classic building boasts a bar, saloon, dining and function room as well as 15 accommodation rooms making it the ultimate country get away for visitors to town or the perfect place for locals to book your work or club’s Christmas party.
