Students and staff adorned their best pink outfits to assist in raising much needed funds for little Macey’s recovery.
Macey Yerbury was just two years old when she suffered significant burns to her upper body following a terrible accident on her family’s property. Macey was flown to Westmead hospital and placed in an induced coma and her recovery was expected to take months, if not years.
The local community have banded together in a big way to financially assist the Yerburys’ with the extensive, ongoing medical costs by holding a number of successful fundraisers with the recent Spring ball having raised a massive $44,358.40.
Also attending the Pink day for Macey were staff from Ability Links NSW. Ability Links NSW is a free service where coordinators, known as Linkers, work closely with people with disability, their families and carers to support them to fulfill their goals, hopes and dreams.
Linkers can help you to find ways to be a part of your local community, set goals and plan for your future, build confidence to achieve your dreams, develop your existing support networks and create new networks. The service is available for people with disability aged 0 to 64 years. There is no formal assessment process that you need to meet in order to use Ability Links NSW.
Your local Linker is Amber Meurs of Cowra who can be contacted via email at amber.meurs@livebetter.org.au or by phoning 0428 584 307.
