Members of the New South Wales Rural Fire Service Weddin Headquarters held an Open Day last Saturday September 16 where members of the community were invited to come along to learn more about the NSW RFS and what they do, as well as receive some expert advice on being prepared for the upcoming fire season.

Those in attendance enjoyed a bbq, fun activities for the kids as well as meeting the friendly local volunteer fire fighters who were on hand to offer tips on preparing your home and property.
Formed on September 9, 1980, the Weddin HQ volunteers have provided an essential service to the local community for 37 years, members are all volunteers who are on call 24 hours per day seven days a week 365 days of the year and are a dedicated group who attend all kinds of incidents.
