The young Roos brushed aside the Bathurst Bulldogs 31-10 just two weeks ago and the two sides will meet in Saturday morning’s Central West Junior Rugby Union grand final.
“They’re a phenomenal young group of players. I saw them and was very impressed with them in the major semi,” Dubbo Kangaroos Junior Rugby Club’s Jason Blake, the coach of the Roos 15s, said of the 13s outfit.
“The first half was tough going but they stuck to their pattern of play and came home too strong and took it out easily. They’re another team with unbelievable quality and really, for them to fall at the final hurdle wouldn’t justify the work they’ve done all year.”
The 13s Roos side is coached by Nick Connors and James Parnaby and Blake was also full of praise for the work the pair has done at the helm this season.
Despite the Bulldogs being outclassed in the major semi, the Bathurst side roared back to form in the preliminary final and downed the Mudgee Wombats 55-25.
