President Glenice Clarke welcomed members, staff and visitors and thanked all for coming. After standing to recite our motto eight apologies were received.

Glenice presented her annual report which is seen elsewhere, revealing a successful year having had three stalls and providing a barbecue, clothes dryer for the nurses quarters, curtains and other smaller items. The fortnightly trolley is still proving popular after 13 years. The Patron Meryl Hunter took the chair for the election of officers which resulted as follows; President, Meryl Clarke. Vice President, Jan Holland. Secretary, Marie Cotter. Treasurer, Vicki Reid. Mavis Drogemuller did not accept nomination after having held the position for 27 years. We done Mavis. Pauline Rousten, Health Service Manager, spoke to the meeting telling of all the work that has been done in and around the building and Karen Hancock spoke on patient care, new staff members and thanked the auxiliary for the purchases during the year. Of the time competitions were held Joan Smith won the door prize and Vicki Reid won the raffle. All were invited to stay for afternoon tea and fellowship.

HOSPITAL AUXILIARY – Annual Report 2016-17

This is the 86th Annual Report for the Grenfell Hospital Auxiliary. We are only a small branch of the United Hospital Auxiliary with 16 financial members.

Some of our members joined with Quandialla members to attend the Zone Day at Bathurst, they travelled in the Community bus, many thanks to Vicki for driving them. On the way home they decided that Grenfell would like to hold the 2018 Zone Day. They informed me when they arrived home, so I hope we can do our best. Three of our members went to Quandialla on the  August 8 for their Annual Meeting and had another enjoyable day. We have purchased the following items for the M.P.S, Hospital Section and Community Health Dept. this year:

Audio Meter and Ear Phones

4 Burner BBQ

2 White Boards

2 sets of Curtains

Shelving, Shade cloth, etc for storage area

6kg Clothes Dryer - for Nurse's residence

The cost of these are itemised in Mavis' report.

We have also ordered some more items to come in 2017/18 year.

Our street stalls and the stall we have in Vaughn Park at the Christmas Carnival were well stock by members and well supported by the citizens of Grenfell. Our fortnightly trolley is still very popular after 13 years, our roster of members who attend with Mavis find it very rewarding.

We have had many donations from families who have had residents in the M.P.S. also some citizens of Grenfell. I would like to congratulate Karen Hancock, Fran Pirie and their staff as well as Tracey Hewen and her staff on the way the M.P.S. and Hospital are run on a daily basis. Today also sees the end of an era with Mavis stepping down as Treasurer after 27 years, how can we thank this lady for all she has done - but we know she is still going to be in charge of the trolley. Lastly I would like to thank Jan Holland our Vice President for standing in for me earlier in the year. Again I thank Marie and Mavis for their support to me as well as other members for their commitment and teamwork in our Branch.

As our Motto says "Let us hold high the Lamp of Service for the Welfare of our Hospital" and as a group we hope to be able to continue doing just that.
