The men should have another enjoyable competition and hopefully the 12 players taking part will every effort to be available each Tuesday night. If you cannot play on any night, please try and organise a fill-in. This will make it so much easier for the organisers.
SUCCESS AT COWRA TOURNAMENT: Recently, several ladies from the Grenfell Tennis Centre travelled over to Cowra to play in their old fashion Point Score Tennis Tournament.
They were Marlene Harris, Jenny Wells, Esma Baker, Mandy Taylor, Sally Mitton and Val Wethers from Bumbaldry. Also taking part in the tournament were 4 ladies from Lithgow including Deidre Carroll’s sister. Ten ladies from the Cowra club made up the 20 players in the tournament.
The winner of the A Grade was our very own top lady player, Mandy Taylor and the runner-up was Mandy’s mum, and former local champ, Esma Baker.
Congratulations to Mandy and Esma. All the other Grenfell ladies put in a fine effo enjoyed the day’s tennis. It is now planned by Sally Mitton and Mandy Taylor to hold a similar old fashion Point Score Tournament at Grenfell, possibly on Wednesday, September 13.
LADIES SPRING NIGHT COMP: The Grenfell ladies are now keen to start their 2017 Spring Night Tennis Competition later this month. Any lady interested are asked to contact Lyndell Rolls on 6343 3214 as soon as possible.
