The sisters, who were both born in Gooloogong called into Grenfell on their way back to Adelaide and as part of Pam’s birthday surprise, Mary booked them into Grenfell Hall B and B.
Their grandparents David McDougall and his wife Mary (nee Flynn) were born in Grenfell and married in St Joseph’s Church around 1906.
Sharing the driving the sisters will spend three weeks together before Pam returns home.
Because of their love of Henry Lawson, their one ambition is to return to Grenfell for the festival.
SISTERS: Desiree Bottilier recently welcomed a visit from her two sisters Libby Impey from New Zealand and Pauline Thomson from Melbourne.
Libby arrived in Sydney and caught the XPT, whilst Pauline caught the XPT from Melbourne.
The girls met at Cootamundra Station and caught the Countrylink bus to Grenfell.
Last week the visitors, Desiree and her children Mark Breed and Monique Joyce enjoyed a night out to dinner at Fettlers.

GRENFELL JOCKEY SESQUICENTENARY: In September 1867 a meeting was held in Yeo’s Hotel to organise and conduct a race meeting to be held in November that year and adopt the AJC rules.
The stewards were instructed to inspect the country between Grenfell and “Seven Hills” and choose a suitable site for the race meeting. The first meeting was held in November at a site about a mile out of Grenfell towards Young.
In the 1870’s the racecourse was shifted to another site and by 1878 was moved to the present site on Holy Camp Rd. The Grenfell Jockey Club Sesquicentenary meeting will be held on Saturday September 23. More history/information will be forthcoming in the sports section of the Grenfell Record leading up to this historic day.
