Congratulations to the Henry Lawson Festival committee and the hundreds of volunteers who contributed in any way on the 60th anniversary and Henry Lawson’s 150th birthday.
As Slim Dusty’s song goes “You’ve Done us Proud”.
The weather, although threatening on Saturday morning proved to be a beautiful day, as did the whole weekend.
VISITING FROM QLD:
Former residents Pat and Joe Keys from Caboolture returned to Grenfell for the Festival festivities.
They had a great time catching up with their friends of yesteryear and thoroughly enjoyed their stay.
HAPPY BIRTHDAYS:
Kirsty Burn and Simon Apps celebrated their birthdays with family and friends at Fettlers Restaurant on June 7
90 YEARS YOUNG:

Prior to arriving in Grenfell, Jenny flew to Melbourne and Tasmania for a sightseeing holiday.
30th BIRTHDAY:
Sunday of the long weekend saw family and friends gather at the home of Scotty Liebich and his family to celebrate his 30th birthday.
Garry Hewen also celebrated his birthday with Scotty.
Both birthday boys celebrated with birthday cakes made by Alicia White.
WORKING HOLIDAY:
Harry Goodrum and Emily Paine from Cornwell UK are in Australia on a working holiday.
They have been in Australia seven months and spent the last three months working at the Greenethorpe Hotel.
On the busiest Saturday of the year they came to Grenfell to assist at the Railway Hotel during the Festival.
OBE:
Congratulations to Meg Makin, who celebrated her OBE ‘Over Bloomin’ 80’ birthday at Fettlers Restaurant on Tuesday evening June 13.
Meg’s husband Max, their son Steven and his wife Karen, grandson Karl Makin, granddaughter Natalie Makin and great grandchildren Remi and Braxton Wood were all in attendance for this milestone.
CRAZ Y LADIES:
The Grenfell Dramatic Society’s production ‘Crazy Ladies’ had the audience in fits of laughter on Monday afternoon.
With one cast member being unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, Grenfell’s own actor extraordinaire Darryl Knapp took to the stage “Oh Lord it is hard to be a woman” and nailed it. Congratulations Darryl – well done!
There will be three more shows – tonight and tomorrow evening at 7.30pm and again with a matinee at 2pm on Sunday.
Tickets are available at CJ Anderson’s or at the door up to fifteen minutes before the show.
WEDDIN WHISPERS:
As it has been a busy weekend, some photographs taken for Weddin Whispers will appear next week.
