Last Saturday the Panthers hosted the Harden Red Devils. The Devils arrived in Grenfell with just enough players to take the paddock so were kindly offered a few for the day, thank you to Lachie Martens, Corey Clarke and Grenfell stalwart Algie Leibick. A lack of numbers did not stop them from displaying hard hitting defence and attack claiming the first points that took Grenfell by surprise. The Panthers then hit back taking the score to 5-5. Harden didn’t slow their attack crossing for another try the score now 10-5. Grenfell then showed dominance sending Matty Reid (Grenfell’s eldest forward) over the line, this wasn’t just a try for the Panthers but a milestone for Matt as his first ever try, including JRL, congratulations Matt. This then set the tempo for the rest of the match with Mark Amey, Adam Troy and Stuart Hughes scoring, final result 26-10 to Grenfell.  Points went to - 3 points: Mark Amey, 2 points: Steve Berry and 1 point: Mark/ Stuart Hughes. 3 zone points: Mark Amey and 1 zone point: Jim McClelland.
