Riders for the day included: Lily Vardy on Timmy, Emily Beath-Pearce on Patch, Kelsey Muller on Holly, Blair Randall on Summer, Frank McMahon on Danny, Daisy McMahon on Willy, Ashleigh Leibick on Charlie and Tania Heathcote on big Patch.
First off some flat work to practice control and aids. Next we were off on our trail ride around Company Dam. Some are old hats at this and some were new to trail riding.
Frank, Daisy and Emily were the newbies and they handled it really well.
Frank and Danny were only interested in going fast all the time, Daisy and Willy were a bit nervous so Emily's mum Myree Beath walked with Daisy, Willy decided cows don't look very nice and are scary - thanks Myree Beath for keeping Daisy and Willy occupied. After our ride was the Easter Egg Hunt - everyone enjoyed this and we found all of our eggs.
The most fun of the day was when Craig Michael McMahon, harnessed George in the cart and everyone had a ride around the track.
But the funniest part was when Craig harnessed Patch (she is broken to harness but hasn't pulled a cart for quite a few years) however, she remembered it all and went off like a rocket.
Watch out Mini Trots we might have a new champion here. Thanks to Craig and Tamara McMahon for a yummy dinner and taking everyone for a ride in the cart, Myree for your help on the trail ride, Di for leading Blair and Summer, Ash and Tania Heathcote for your instruction and group leading on our trail ride.
Everyone had a really great afternoon.
The May Rally Day is scheduled for Saturday May 27 instead of Sunday May 21 as majority of riders will be away on the 21.
