On Saturday April 22 two young ladies, Miss Britney Troy and Miss Kate Overall were presented to society at the Quandialla Soldiers Memorial Hall Scots Debutante Ball.

Mrs Sarah Ryan, MC, introduced the official party of President of the Quandialla Soldiers Memorial Hall, Robert Reeves accompanied by Lynell Reeves, Vice President Carmen du Rieu-May and Secretary Marlene Taylor partnered by Trevor Taylor. Matron of Honour for the evening was Mrs. Bev Kelly, the Debutantes were presented to Mr. Allen Kelly. The Presentations started with the Debs and partners dancing a piece to Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely.”
The first Debutante to be presented was Miss Britney Troy, daughter of Wayne and Cheryl Troy of Quandialla. Britney was partnered by Reece Turner son of Leanne Hampton and Trevor Turner of West Wyalong. Britney who is in Year 11, attends West Wyalong High and hopes to study childcare after her HSC. Britney wore an exquisite chiffon and lace gown. The sweetheart chiffon bodice featured a lace overlay with a high neckline decorated with lace edging, the lace bodice was finished with a lace covered band at the waist. The back of the lace bodice was an additional feature that formed a lovely ‘V’ finishing at the chiffon back.
Next was Miss Kate Overall, daughter of Fred and Nicole Overall of West Wyalong. Kate was partnered by Zackery Steele son of Graeme and Lisa Steele of West Wyalong. Kate is in Year 11 at St Scholastica College, Glebe Sydney. Kate wishes to pursue a career in animal welfare. Kate wore a gorgeous gown with a tulle overlay skirt. The gown had a chiffon rouched sweetheart strapless bodice with herringbone lacing on the bodice back. The waist band on the bodice front was highlighted with a design of diamantes, however, the main feature of this lovely gown was the full gathered tulle handkerchief skirt.
Flower girls for the evening were Sienna Yerbury and Tahmikah Daley who looked picture perfect wearing pink flower print dresses that featured a gathered skirt.
Mr Robert Reeves opened the Ball, the Debutantes then thanked everyone concerned for such a wonderful night. The Deb party then cut the Cake which was made by Kathy Smith and decorated by Bev Kelly. To complete their Presentation the Debutantes and partners formal dance was the Swing Waltz followed by the fun dance “Uptown Funk”.
