The leaves have turned and autumn weather is upon us which can mean only one thing; the Grenfell Henry Lawson Festival is just around the corner. This year’s Festival marks two big milestones- it is the 60th consecutive Grenfell Henry Lawson Festival- a terrific achievement for a small country town with a committee compiled entirely of volunteers. In addition 2017 marks 150 since poet Henry Lawson was born on the Grenfell goldfields.

The street procession is always a highlight of the June long weekend and this year we want Grenfell to put on the best procession ever. This year’s theme is Happy Birthday and gives your organisation freedom to create an entertaining procession entry or float. Be involved; be part of Grenfell’s history.
As part of this year’s celebrations the Henry Lawson birth site is undergoing a rejuvenation, which will be unveiled in time for the June long weekend. This will ensure the Sunday morning campfire, damper, billy tea and poetry at the site is more significant than ever before.
