Cowra halfback Cameron Breust is relieved to be playing injury free this season, after carrying a torn hamstring through the opening six rounds of 2016.

Breust expressed his excitement of having the opportunity to get back to his best, which he hopes can spark the Magpies to reach their potential.
“Last year was very frustrating for me. The first six weeks I was playing with a torn thigh. This year it’s a lot more exciting I can direct us around the park and utilise my kicking game which I struggled to do last year,” Cameron Breust said.
“It’s exciting to be 100 percent. Hopefully we can win a few games and show our potential.”
He’s placed a big emphasis on this Sunday’s derby against Blayney at King George Oval, following last week’s 30-20 loss against Oberon keeping Cowra without a win.
Cowra’s expecting Blayney to try and utilise the strength of their forwards in an effort to find the advantage, according to Breust.

“They got a big forward pack. They like running through the middle so we need muscle up there. We got the forward pack to do that this year, we might just have to be a bit more aggressive,” he said.
“There’s a huge importance on this weekend. It would do us the world of good to get a result and it would give us a shot of confidence that would help us start playing to our potential.”
Breust, personally, is hoping to capitalise on a strong start to the season.
He’s thriving playing alongside halves partner Warren Williams, who posses a devastating running game, and is hopeful the Magpies will make a move in the coming weeks.
“Me and Warren are combining quite well. Warren being a running half allows me to concentrate on directing the side around. I think it’s working well at the moment and it’s promising for the remainder of the year,” Breust said.
“We [as a side] have made a massive improvement on last year. I don’t like comparing us to last year but keeping Mudgee to 14 [round one], in a game we could have won, compared to them running in 40 against last year speaks for itself.”
Cowra and Blayney face off on Sunday about 2.30pm.
Meanwhile, Magpies hooker Rick Nobes has been selected for Group 10s game against Group 11 at Parkes on Saturday.
