11.20am Youth League – Trundle v Canowindra
12.40pm League Tag – Grenfell v Canowindra
2.00pm First Grade – Grenfell v Canowindra
Our League Tag girls have come up with two solid wins over Eugowra (26-22), and Manildra (24-6) in the first two competition rounds but look to have plenty of improvement in them as the team settles after a large turnover of players in the off season.
The Goannas were disappointed with their last outing when they were outplayed by Manildra to the tune of 38-18 at Manildra on Sunday April 9 and this came after a stirring come from behind win over Eugowra the week prior. Coach Mark Horne will be looking for an improved performance against a young Tigers outfit who suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Manildra in the first round but only went down 40-30 to 2016 premiers Condobolin at Condo in the second round. Canowindra have had a number of their juniors return to the club this season including the major signing of former Wests Tigers and Australian Rugby Sevens flyer John Grant. Grenfell and Canowindra always produce tight and intense games and this match should be no exception with both teams desperate for the points.
