Harvey and Freudenstein dominate tennis court: With the weather continuing to be kind, the Tuesday Men’s Comp went to battle this week, with Charles Harvey and Rod Freudenstein showing a clear pair of heals to win claim the evening. Charles and Rod, who was subbing for Jim Griffiths, played controlled tennis winning their sets 7/1,4/4,5/3,7/1 & 6/2 to accumulate 29 games. Only a couple of games behind, was the handy pairing of Murray Mitton and Grahame Edwards. The boys amassed 27 games, winning 6/2,4/4,7/1,4/4 & 6/2. Playing consistent tennis to finish third on the night was Hugh Moffitt and Rick Power, who collected 19 games. Mayor Mark Liebich and super sub Sally Mitton, who filled in this week for Andrew Bucknell. Mark and Sal plugged away to get a respectable 18 games, closely followed by Arnold Brown and Alan Jones, who was filling the void for Pat Hazell. Alan and Arnold battled away against some more fancied pairings, to add 17 games towards their overall tallies. Lewis Keough, who was filling in for Anthony Wilson, as normal gave 110% when he and John Walmsley finished the night on 10 games.
