Member for Cootamundra Katrina Hodgkinson has announced a new NSW Ambulance station for the Grenfell community, with planning scheduled to begin shortly.
The new purpose-built station will enable local NSW Ambulance paramedics to better meet the current and future emergency mobile care needs of Grenfell.
"The new station is part of the NSW Government's $122 million Rural Ambulance Infrastructure Reconfiguration program which represents the biggest regional and rural transformation of NSW Ambulance infrastructure in the organisation's history," Katrina said.
"The new facilities will be a major improvement on the current 119 year-old station on Main Street, the NSW Government is investing in purpose-built, modern NSW Ambulance stations to help our highly trained paramedics be in the right place, at the right time," Katrina said.
Grenfell Ambulance Station Manager Andrew Noble is delighted with the announcement “I welcome the announcement from the Hon. Katrina Hodgkinson,” said Mr Noble. “While the current station has served it’s purpose, the new station will better meet the needs of our community for many years to come.” Mr Noble said.
Weddin Shire Mayor Mark Liebich also welcomes the announcement as a positive step forward for the shire. To be designed with input from local Ambulance staff, the purpose-built infrastructure will deliver a better working environment, tailored to suit the needs of Grenfell.
