Thanks to the support of parents and community members, several, colourful, culinary creations were entered. The cakes that were produced showed great culinary expertise and were decorated with creativity, many, finely finished with the skills of master chocolatiers.
Principal, Mr Garry Heath said he was delighted with the event which showed the genuine community spirit that Greenethorpe has to offer. Children had the opportunity to decorate patty cakes and enjoy a sausage sizzle prior to the judging and auction.
All cakes were presented for public judging and then auctioned by local identity Mr David Watts. Bidding was vigorous and genuine support for the school was evident with many cakes raising in excess of $100. A new record was set when six chocolate eclairs, cooked by master pastry chef Chris Wills, raised $170. Mr Heath conveyed his congratulations and thanks to the P&C executive, particularly President Zoe Carter who also cooked the winning cake and to Treasurer Linda Orford who were responsible for much of the organisation. Mr Heath also thanked the Shamrock Hotel owners and staff for their continued support of the school. Special thanks also to the following individuals who cooked for the event. Chefs:
