Men’s club champions for 2016 are: Major Singles: Steve Galvin; Minor Singles: Warren Paine; Major Pairs: Blake Bradtke and Andrew Armstrong; Mixed Pairs: Matt and Pat Reid; Major/Minor Pairs: James and Graeme Hunter; Club Triples: Brad Galvin, Dylan Troy and Blake Bradtke; Club Fours: Dylan Troy, Rob Chambers, James Hunter and Graeme Hunter; Mixed Fours: Andrew Armstrong, Steve Galvin, Lyn Galvin and Sonia Ingall. Congratulations to all our 2016 champions.
Mixed social bowls held as a prelude to the presentations attracted a large field of 30 bowlers. Prize winners for the event were Rob Coleman, Barry Bradtke and Rosemary Walter, who each won a ham. Ray Walter, Steve Galvin and Keith Brus won Christmas hampers.
Social Bowls: With Christmas hams up for grabs, social bowlers were out in force over the past week and, in all, 54 bowlers took to the greens. On Wednesday, picnic ham winners were Nev Coleman, Martin Betcher and George Dumbrell, with Keith Brus winning the free game. On Friday, Rob Coleman, John Dumbrell and Lindsay Ballard walked away with a half-leg of ham each and Barry Harris won the free game. Sunday chook winners were Col Meyers, Andrew Armstrong and John Joyce. Free game winner was Ray Brown.
Gooloogong Bowls Day: For a great day out and a chance to win some festive goodies, the Gooloogong Bowling Club is the place to be this coming Sunday, December 18. The ham and turkey triples day is open to men’s, women’s or mixed teams. Play begins at 10am and will consist of two games of 18 ends. Dress is mufti and cost is $60 per team, which includes lunch and afternoon tea. There are prizes for winners and runners-up. To enter, phone the club on 6344-8201 by Friday.
Zone 4 Fours: Round one of the Fours championship in Zone 4 will be held at four different venues on February 4 and 5. Sixteen teams will play per venue. Entries close early January and a list is on the board if you would like to enter a team. For further details see Steve Galvin.
Jackpot: The jackpot went off this week with Dennis Fuller and John Grogan coming up with the required statistics of a score of -2 on End 10 on an even rink. Dennis and John will each receive $34. Next week the jackpot will kick off again at $55
