As reported in last Friday’s Grenfell Record, a great roll up of interested community and RSL members were in attendance.
Many ideas were put forward and one in particular, the ANZAC “Roll Up, Roll Up” Concert to be held on Friday April 24.
Nevin Hughes is the coordinator for this concert, so if you wish to have any input into this or sing a ‘war time’ song or recite some poetry, just give Nevin a call.
The next meeting of the Centenary of ANZAC Community meeting will be held , Thursday, March 12, 2015, 7pm at the Grenfell Bowling Club.
For as long as I can remember, the Grenfell Record has had a diary, where members of the public can record their upcoming events.
This is a free service and if all organisations used this, most times a clashing of major events can be avoided.
This information is posted in the “Wotzon” section on page 2 in every Wednesday’s Grenfell Record, is also passed onto Auburn Carr at Weddin Tourism and is used in the 2LF Weddin Shire segment on Monday Mornings and the “Streets of Grenfell” on Wednesday mornings.
Grenfell/Weddin Shire is a small but very busy place with many schools/ sporting/social and fundraising events scheduled.
I urge all organisations to make use of this wonderful facility which also a lets the Grenfell Record weekend photographer know of your event and to be in attendance and take photos.
If you are unable to get into the Record, just give Ngaire or Belinda a call on 0263 431178 and they will record the event for you.
Merle Hughes and her daughter Pauline are no strangers when it comes to lunch at the Railway Hotel. Wednesday February 11 was a special day for Merle as she was celebrating her 89th birthday.
Kathy Taylor met with Merle and Pauline and they all enjoyed a delightful lunch and friendly chatter. Happy birthday Merle.
