80th BIRTHDAY: On Saturday November 18, 75 family and friends gathered to celebrate Glenice Clarke's OBE (Over bloomin' 80) 80th birthday. The family was able to organise a few surprises for the birthday girl.
Glenice knew there was a party but didn't know the venue or some on the guest list. Glenice's niece drove her around town on Saturday midday to various venues that Glenice thought of. Clythette, finally arrived at The Collective, where guests were waiting.
Glenice had her 92-year-old aunty in attendance, making five generations in the room for the celebration. Glenice also had cousins in attendance who she had not seen in over 15 years. Family travelled from Darwin, Adelaide, Sydney, Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Canberra and Yass.
Granddaughter, Elyse made the birthday cake using Grandma Glenice's recipe. Everyone in attendance enjoyed the festivities and reminiscing of times gone by. Huge thankyou to Belinda Mawhinney of the Collective and Cathy and her team at Unwind.

WHERE'S ELLEN: Karen Brown, daughter of Nancy and the late Geoff Gravenmaker celebrated her 60th birthday recently in Canberra.
As her daughter Ellen was on a university exchange to the United Kingdom, she was not able to return for the celebrations - hence Karen and her husband Michael organised for a fantastic full life-looking cardboard photograph of Ellen to be included in any outings attended by the family.
Karen and Michael returned to Grenfell last weekend and naturally "Ellen" came home with them. They attended the Lions Friday night raffles at the Albion Hotel and Ellen was lucky enough to win two drink vouchers.
I don't think Ellen was unruly, but local police officer Mark spoke with her and joined in the 'fun' of her arrest.
Ellen is sure like "Lucky Star" as she has been everywhere. Karen, Michael and their son Ben will travel to the UK soon to visit her.
