Keeping the dignity in death

Penrose Funerals is bidding farewell to Bill Atchison, expressing deep gratitude for his decades of dedicated service to the community.

As Bill embarks on his retirement, the team at Penrose Funerals extends their warmest wishes for a fulfilling next chapter.

Amidst the transition, Penrose Funerals welcomes Bethany Parr as their new manager and funeral director.

With 20 years of experience in the Education sector, including a recent tenure as head teacher at Young High School, Bethany brings a wealth of expertise and compassion to her new role.

Reflecting on her diverse background, Bethany shares, "I have worked in church communities, therefore I've done a lot of event planning and worked with families that have been in distress".

She continues, "I also worked as a special education trained teacher, which means that I also worked with students and parents that are also experiencing stress".

Bethany's background in pastoral care uniquely positions her to serve the community with kindness, care, and professionalism.

"I have a skill that supports working with people that are in the hardest times of their lives and working through the process of grief," she said.

Bethany is eager to apply her skills and experiences to support families during times of loss and remembrance.

"This is a real privilege to work with families at this time, it gives you a real sense of purpose, understanding, and empathy," she said.

"This is about keeping the people in our care dignified in death."

Penrose Funerals would like to thank more recently Lisa Hughes for her support in the community.
