The happy youngsters enjoyed the two Lions’ Jumping Castles, a big thank you goes to THLHS Leos Club for their assistance with these. The Rotary Club was kept busy during the evening cooking steak and sausage sandwiches to satisfy the hungry. Lions also ran their chocolate wheel where prizes of hams, turkeys and chickens were up for grabs, they also organised the tickets for Santa’s visit.
The Grenfell Hospital Auxiliary also reported on a successful evening with their stall and raffle as did Lorraine Ivins in her fundraiser the “Cows for Cambodia” campaign.
Special thanks to the Grenfell Town and District Band who every year entertain the party goers throughout the evening with Christmas Carols and add atmosphere to a fantastic evening. Another popular attraction on a very warm evening was the Ice Cream man.
Mayor Liebich was on hand to announce the winners of the 2017 Christmas Lights/Display for Grenfell. Congratulations to winners David and Sue Dixon, 2nd place Sid and Marina Brandt and 3rd place Libby Noble.
Thank you to the Grenfell branch of the NSW Fire and Rescue who always are available to transport Santa to this big event and to the local SES members who always turn up to assist with lighting of the park for the carnival. Finally thank you to WSC for the use of Vaughn park which made a perfect venue and for providing extra bins.
