Over 90 people attended the annual Melbourne Cup luncheon on Tuesday November 7.

A large crowd of ladies and gents arrived at the Country Club to attend the Grenfell Branch of Red Cross Melbourne Cup luncheon. As befitted the lovely day all were attired in true Melbourne Cup fashion and everyone enjoyed the many prizes, sweeps and entertainment. Tanya Mooney provided a beautiful two course banquet while Lisa Schaefer entertained guests with an overhead display of her hats, very fitting for a ‘Cup’ event, and a short story of her early training and entry into the millinery profession. Lisa’s highlight was her winning hat at the Melbourne Cup. Angela Hunter then gave a brief success story of creating the winning ‘Fashion of the Field’. Maria Neill showcased a variety of shoes adding to the entertainment. Grenfell Red Cross would like to sincerely thank the community for supporting their major fundraiser of the year. Special thanks to the Country Club and Karen Holland, also to Tanya, Lisa, Maria and Angela. A surprise presentation of $1000 donation was given to the Red Cross by the Grenfell Garden Club, we thank you very much and assure this money will help so many people in need who are less fortunate than ourselves.
