On a balmy morning at Lawson Park, The Grenfell  Breakers played the Grenfell Eels in the Stage 3 Cowra competition. Breakers won the toss and decided to bat. Both sides were missing a few players due to Remembrance Day commitments and injury, the 8 batters put up a great battle and after 23 overs were out for 74. Oscar Schaefer top scored on 16 with support from Mea O’Byrne (14) and Harrison Starr (10 no) and we must note that Hugh Wilson is no longer a duck farmer, as he got his highest score of 3. The pick of the Eels bowlers was Tanaya Holz.

The Breakers knew they were going to have a hard time in the field as Hugh had to leave early. M Gault top scored for the Eels, with 34. With some tight bowling at the end the Breakers came out victors. Josh Pargeter lead the way taking 4/4 off 2.2 overs, with support from Ky O’Byrne 1/1 Luke Nealon 1 / 2 and Mea O’Byrne 1/5.

In other games for The Grenfell Cricket Club both Stage 2 teams Thunder and Sixes won, Stage 3 Blues were defeated by Canowindra and B Grade defeated Morongola.
