The group spent three nights in Darwin after flying from Sydney, three nights on the train and another three nights in Adelaide. Side trips to Katherine Gorge, Alice Springs and Coober Pedy were part of the train experience. The highlight in Darwin was the ‘hop on hop off bus’ enabling the visitors to see many of the city’s attractions. In Alice Springs a visit to the National Road Transport Hall of Fame was top priority, followed by catching up with relatives. At Adelaide, Jill and Allan chanced upon the display of solar cars that had just completed the Darwin to Adelaide challenge – they’re certainly different. A tour to the Barossa Valley and Hahndorf completed their sight-seeing.

His children James and his son Thomas, Catherine and David and Lucy and Michael Kemp were in attendance but unfortunately Robert was unable to attend. Brian’s sister Helen Mulcahy as well as friends and neighbours also enjoyed the day.

Well done Bev.
SUNSHINE ON THE PEAKS: The Launch of “Sunshine on the Peaks” took place last week at THLHS. Congratulation to all involved in this outstanding song-writing Wellbeing Program, focussing on mental health. Many people worked on this production including Students and staff of THLHS, Arts Out West, The Grenfell Men’s Shed, Councillors of the Weddin Shire, community members and Abbey Smith. This has received great publicity on radio and TV.
HALLOWEEN: On Tuesday evening October 31, we had a number of young people (with their parents) tricking or treating. They were very excited.
Luckily we had some treats for them. As they were all dressed up, I did not get their names. They will know their photographs.
NEW AQUATIC CENTRE: Almost four months ago Katrina Hodgkinson (former Member for Cootamundra) and the Deputy Premier John Barilaro were in Grenfell and announced that a grant of $950,000 had been received through Club Grants from NSW Government for the amenities block at the pool. On this day it was also announced that the pool would be finished on November 01. On Wednesday November 01, Weddin Shire Council received the keys to the new Grenfell Aquatic Centre from the contractors ICON Building group Pty Ltd. The facility will be open to the public this Saturday November 04, 2017. I believe the Mayor Mark Liebich and Miss Roma Sinclair will take to the water at 6am on Saturday.
